Not something to be “fixed,” but something to be supported with care and balance.

According to Ayurveda, mensuration is a monthly detox for your entire system reflecting your reproductive health. It’s a time when your body wants to slow down, release, and restore. And when you respect that rhythm of, you can experience much smoother cycle physically and emotionally.

So, what simple things can we do to support our menstrual health in Ayurvedic way?

Eat Warm, Nourishing Foods

The energy levels drop and digestion becomes weak during menstrual cycle. So, it is crucial to be gentle and take good care of our body. Stay warm, stick to cooked meals like soups, vegetables and yes avoid cold food items. Also, anything that is heavy or fried might keep your body at discomfort. Nourish your body and let the natural rhythm cleanse your body.

Rest and Don’t Overdo It

Now is not the time to devote yourself to back-to-back schedules or intense physical activity. Your body heals and rebalances when you do gentle yoga, take a quick walk, or simply do less than usual.

Herbs Can Help Too

Herbs as the gift of nature are remedy to anything. Herbs like ashwagandha (for calming), shatavari (for hormone support), and fennel (for bloating and cramps) can be wonderful allies. Sip herbal teas or take them as recommended by an Ayurvedic practitioner.

Your menstruation is a way of your body communicating with you, as per Ayurveda. It is asking you to get rest, warmth and attention to yourself. When you give it what it needs, things go a little more smoothly. Literally.

The next time your cycle happens, try to appreciate it. See it as a pause, not a problem.

Your body will be grateful!!
